Project for Peace Portraits + Book Project

In February 2024 I worked with children and young adults asking the question “What Does Peace Mean to You”. The project was originally started by Dr. Rivera, Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado Boulder and I became involved after my last visit with the Artnauts’ to Sarajevo. We are now collaborating on a book project to be published in 2026 in celebration of the Artnauts’ 30th Anniversary. Photos taken at the Applied Arts High school as well as students and faculty from International Burch University, Sarajevo and Colombia.

WHAT DOES PEACE MEAN TO YOU? THIS IS A QUESTION WE POSE TO STUDENTS AND FACULTY OF ALL AGES, RACES AND RELIGIONS AS WE TRAVEL THE WORLD CREATING CONNECTION. THIS SIMPLE QUESTION CREATES A BRIDGE BETWEEN ALL OF US— NO MATTER OUR BACKGROUNDS. THE STUDENTS AND FACULTY ARE ALWAYS EAGER TO JUMP IN AND BE A PART OF THE EXERCISE AND OUR DREAM IS TO TURN THIS IN TO A MOVEMENT THAT REACHES OTHERS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.
